Thinking About Deisgn
I like getting stuck into complex challenges, and I’m driven by a desire to make positive changes through design, and making technology feel more human and accessible to more people.
Earlier in my career I worked in both visual design and coding, which means I can talk extremely fine detail with designers, and can hold technical conversations with developers to help shape ideas, systems and designs into workable solutions.
I enjoy leading teams and helping people grow. I try to create an environment where everyone constantly levels up - doing our best work together and supporting each other through the process.
I'm also intensely interested in how AI is shaping the future of products, and how emerging decentralised technology could redefine the web in the coming years.
Creative Outlets
Outside of client work I love designing tabletop games. Creating the characters, the worlds they live in, the systems that drive the gameplay, and the stories that keep the players hooked. I’m interested in the intersection of mechanics and narrative, and how a rule or limitation can shape the way players think, feel, and collaborate. You can see more at fiascogames.xyz.
I’m also launching a t-shirt brand, club nights, and a small record label on various platforms and at userfriendly.club. It’s a space for experiments - visually, musically, and culturally. I work with artists, musicans, and illustrators to design brand stories and memorable nights.
In 2023 I launched a small ecommerce store that blew up into a full business, with over 10,000 sales in the first year alone. It's a playground for me to experiment with design, coding, automated workflows and the mechanics of business. It went from an idea over a glass of wine to launching, hiring 3 employees, winning awards and becoming almost fully automated within 2 years, You can see more at blackcatprintclub,co.uk.
